Mom called this morning with fantastic news--the doctors decided this morning to take Caitlin out of intensive care to place her in the step-down unit of the hospital. This means that she will be off dialysis later today and will be removed from most of the gadgets and thingamabobs that have been doing whatever it is that gadgets and thingamabobs do. Her kidneys are still not working but this is a step in the right direction. Later today a physical therapy expert will start working with Caitlin, helping her to walk and get a bit of exercise. I'll have Aunt Jo do a more specific update in a few minutes as she actually understands what mom's telling us.
This is the happiest pi-day ever!
