April 7, 2008

It's 3:15 in the afternoon and I'm updating the blog. Why?, are you asking, is that significant as you're scratching your head. It's because it's 3:15 in the afternoon and we should be at dialysis BUT WE'RE NOT!!!! I took Caitlin in this morning to have her blood work drawn and they called back in the late morning to say that her numbers were OK that she didn't need to be dialyzed today - we can wait until Wednesday morning to go back. On Wed. morning, they'll draw blood again and decide if she needs dialysis. The doctor put her back on the blood pressure medication that she only took one of last Wednesday before she had a syncopal episode (fainted) so I'm watching her pretty closely today to make sure if it happens again, I'm right here. She has home health PT tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday - I think she'll be released to go to out-patient PT here in Fairview to work with her on her strength and endurance. We had a relatively quiet weekend. Caitlin saved up her energy to be able to go back to the high school to watch her brother in the production of The Wizard of Oz. This time she took some pain medication and so was able to sit in the theatre seats a little more comfortably than on Thursday. She continues to suffer from generalized pain/aching, most especially in her left knee and right foot. She's trying really hard not to take pain medications during the day, but we've had a lot of rain and I think the dampness exacerbated the aching. She has a doctor's appointment with her PCP on Thursday afternoon, so we're still doing a lot of driving back and forth into Nashville. Your continued comments, prayers and cards are very much appreciated - we thank you! Chris
