April 27, 2008

It's somewhat overcast here in Fairview and looking like rain. Great news for flowers, veggies, grass, etc but what I'm actually seeing is the grass getting knee-high and another afternoon spent mowing!! I can't complain, though, it's good exercise and gives me a chance to commune with nature! Caitlin had dialysis on Friday after she had physical therapy with Craig. They did post dialysis blood work and I got a call back on Friday evening stating that Caitlin's phosphates were back to being on the lower side and her hemoglobin was really low (7.3 - normal is 12 to 13). They didn't want any changes to her medications but told me that if she became short of breath that she needed to be seen in the ER over the weekend. She is expected back on Monday for another blood draw and we'll find out whether she will need dialysis or not. She has had a quiet weekend - her cousins came over yesterday (Saturday) and spent some time visiting which really lifted her spirits. She continues to feel nauseated but it has been over a week since she has actually gotten sick to her stomach. I continue to stay home from both my jobs but feel the love and support from both St. Thomas ER and Cool Springs Surgery Center management and employees. I can't express my true gratitude to all those who continue to offer help, call, visit, pray, etc. Keep up the good work - I know that all the previously mentioned gifts are what has helped me and my family thru this difficult time. I truly feel blessed on so many levels and know that God has been watching over all of us. Chris

Hello Chris and Family,
This is Sheila, Mikayla's mom,
we just heard of Caitlyn's illness.
Our prayers are with you, please know I will be thinking of you every moment. We have walked through some trial also, I have to say, God is true and will hold you in the palm of His hand.
Please call if you need anything and don't be shy, be bold!
All our love, Sheila, Mikayla and Caleb.
